Description
The old raisin factory Th. Vourloumi is located at the junction of Othonos & Amalias and Trion Navarchon streets.
The Vourloumi raisin factory took its current form at the end of the 19th century (approximately 1890), while the barrel factory I. Apostolidis existed in the area until at least 1885.
Its facilities were used for the processing, packaging and storage of raisin fruit of the Vourloumi raisin exporting house, one of the largest in its time with an office in London.
In the 50's and 60's the facilities were used by the company Kouninioti, a historical raisin export company of Aigio.
The complex, which consists of two wings, is a brilliant example of industrial architecture of its time, with special morphological elements as it is made of visible carved stone structure, with openings bearing a curved stone crown and cast iron railings with the monogram of the owner.
