In 1859, Gustavos Klaus, representative of the company Fels & Co., proceeds to the purchase of an area of 60 acres in the area of Riganokampos by the landowner Georgios Kostakis. There he built his summer residence, in which he took care to plant vines.
In 1861 he founded the winery company Achaia Clauss. At first he managed his estate with the company "Jacob Klipfel".
