Arsakeio Building
An iconic interwar school building in Patras, later transformed into a cultural and activity center under the management of the Municipality.

POINTS OF INTEREST
From a girls’ school to a cultural landmark
The Arsakeio building was erected by the Municipality of Patras in 1935 to house the Arsakeio Girls’ School of the Educational Society, which had been operating since 1891 in a private residence (Fakiris House).
The complex is laid out in a U-shape, occupying the entire block between Korinthou, Gotsi, Parthenakou, and Maizonos Streets, leaving a spacious outdoor area on its southern side.
Its construction was carried out using reinforced concrete; the building has three floors and a basement, and its design is marked by severity and simplicity—characteristics typical of interwar public architecture.
After the Arsakeia Schools moved to new premises, the historic complex was transferred to the Municipality of Patras and is now used as a cultural venue hosting events and activities.
